About

Built to close the gap between ESG promises and ESG reality

Novare Insights exists because the ESG intelligence market has a structural problem. Incumbent providers score disclosures - they reward volume and wording, not execution. A company can publish a 200-page sustainability report full of ambitious targets and receive a top-tier ESG rating, regardless of whether it follows through on a single commitment.

We built Walk-The-Talk Score™ to fix that. Not another disclosure-based score. An action-based one - comparing what companies say versus what they verifiably do. Read the full methodology.

Marco Bruijns

Founder, Novare Insights

Marco is a data and AI engineer. He built Novare Insights after recognising that ESG intelligence has a data engineering problem at its core, not an ESG expertise problem. Incumbent providers are built on self-reported disclosures — data that companies produce and optimise for the rating, not for accountability.

Walk-The-Talk Score™ is an engineering solution. Rather than asking companies what they do, it extracts commitments from regulatory filings, CDP disclosures, and sustainability reports, then cross-references those commitments against verified third-party evidence: EPA enforcement records, court filings, NGO campaign data, and investigative journalism. The gap between what a company states and what verifiable records show is the score.

Novare is currently in early access, focused on asset managers, family offices, and corporate sustainability teams who need intelligence quality, not data volume.

Mission

The problem we're solving

ESG ratings reward disclosure, not execution. Companies that publish better reports score higher, regardless of whether their operations reflect those reports. This creates a systematic credibility gap that investors, regulators, and corporates cannot currently see.

How we measure it

Walk-The-Talk Score™ compares stated commitments against verifiable evidence of action, with a real-time controversy layer that amplifies negative signals. Scores update continuously - not annually after sustainability reports are filed.

Who we serve

Asset managers and investment firms who need ESG signal quality for portfolio construction and risk, family offices conducting due diligence, and corporate strategy teams tracking their own credibility exposure against peers.

Where we're headed

Novare is in early access. We are building full coverage of publicly traded companies, expanding the AI reasoning layer, and developing supply chain intelligence that maps ESG risk through multi-tier supplier relationships.
